Email Address and Password Help
To log in to
PayPal, you must enter your email address and password.
If you are having trouble logging
in to PayPal, first make sure that you are entering your email address and password correctly.
Remember, you must use your full email address, in the format me@myemailprovider.com. Your
password is 8 or more characters, and is case-sensitive - check to see if you left your CAPS
LOCK on.
If you have forgotten your password, you can complete PayPal's password
recovery process to gain access to your account. First, click the
Forgot your password?
link on the PayPal home page.
Enter any email address registered with your PayPal account and click Submit. PayPal will
send you an email that contains a link. When you follow the link, you will be asked to answer
questions about your account - information that only you, as the account holder, would know.
You may then reset your password and log in to your account.
Updating Your PayPal Account Information
You can edit your account
information, including your contact information and financial details, from your
Profile page. First,
log in to your PayPal account, and click the Profile sub-tab. Click the link to the
information you wish to edit, and make your changes.
Once you close your account, you will not be able to:
- Offer PayPal as a payment method on your listings
- Make any purchases using PayPal
- View your PayPal account History
Closing Your PayPal Account
- Log in
to your PayPal account
- Click the Profile sub-tab
- Click on the Close Account link in the Account Information column
- Click Continue
- If you wish to continue, click Close Account/li>
Once you have closed your account, all of your outstanding transactions will be
cancelled immediately. Your remaining account balance, if any, will be mailed to you.
